Some people come to us where they already PREwanna do what’s needed. But when people don’t, how do we get them to wanna do more, faster, better than ever? Or how do we get them to REwanna engage constructively after their fire seems to have gone out? When enhanced engagement and effectiveness is desirable… when greater “buy-in” and enthusiastic effort are necessary, since we can’t MAKE them do it, how do we get then to wanna do it?

About Our Speaker:
Doug Walker, M.S. is the creator of the A-ha! Performance Map of Intrinsic Motivation Points™ and the accompanying set of Leadership and Management Applications for Preventing, Solving and Recovering from personnel challenges. He is the author of A-ha! PERFORMANCE: Building & Managing A Self-Motivated Workforce™ (Wiley, July 2007). A highly sought after key-note speaker, trainer, executive coach, and management consultant, Doug is widely recognized as a leading expert in intrinsic motivation management.
Doug established his initial model more than 10 years ago. It continues to prove extremely powerful in helping leaders and managers understand that they can only influence and inspire, not control their employees into optimal performance. As leaders and managers evolve their paradigm from a belief in external controls to an understanding of internal controls, they discover an array of tools and applications that are so effective they not only produce desired results, they reduce stress for both manager and employee.

He also taught and presented his model in a variety of courses at the University of California, San Diego, and USD.
Mr. Walker now shares his models, practices and insights with owners of small to medium size businesses in his capacity as Manager of HR Services for Insperity’s San Diego office. Prior to that, he served for nearly eight years as the managing consultant responsible for the day-to-day operations at the San Diego office of DBM, an international career transition management consulting firm, with more than 200 offices worldwide. Doug has served or presented for a wide variety of organizations including Sony, Qualcomm, Hewlett Packard, San Diego County, Profil Clinical Research Institute, San Diego Police and Sherriff’s Departments, SANDAG, Inc. Magazine’s Growing Your Company conference, the Professional Coaches and Mentors Association, the Society for Human Resource Managers (SHRM) and more.
Doug has a Masters degree in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology. Doug has an extensive background and professional network, having taught and presented in Australia, Canada, Japan and throughout the United States.
